This event will mark the closing of the course on Monitoring and Evaluation for Trade Facilitation.
In this event, apart from showing the final results and statistics of the course, the use of the Reform Tracker will be highlighted as a monitoring and evaluation tool, and partner countries will be able to share how they are monitoring the implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and other trade facilitation reforms.
This course is part of the UNCTAD Empowerment Programme for Trade Facilitation.. The course is designed to strengthen capacities of National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC) members and other trade facilitation stakeholders on monitoring and evaluation. By the end of this course, participants understood the main concepts of monitoring and evaluation and how they are relevant in the context of trade facilitation They also became more familiar with the planning tools and approaches, as well as the key components of a monitoring plan. Finally, this course showed them the main steps they need to follow in order to conduct an evaluation.
This third edition has been delivered in selected English-speaking countries participating in two UNCTAD projects: “Accelerate Trade Facilitation”, financed by the United Kingdom, and “Capacity building for East African Community trade portals connectivity and trade facilitation support”, financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Multilateral Cooperation Centre for Development Finance (MCDF).
