Outcome documents:
The 14th session of the CSTD concluded on 27 May, 2011, recommending to the Economic and Social Council for adoption, the following draft resolutions and decisions.
- Draft resolution on "Science and Technology for Development"
- Draft resolution on "Assessment of the progress made in the implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society"
- Draft decision on "Extension of the mandate of the Gender Advisory Board of the Commission on Science and Technology for Development"
The Commission will review progress made in the implementation of and follow-up to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) outcomes at the regional and international levels, including on improvements to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
The Commission will address the following priority themes:
- Measuring the impact of information and communications technology for development
- Technologies to address challenges in areas such as agriculture and water
In addition, the Commission will hear presentations on national science, technology and innovation policy reviews.
Participants will include Representatives of Governments, civil society, the private sector, international organizations and many others.
