This webinar introduced TiSSTAT, UNCTAD’s innovative information system developed to improve the availability, quality, and comparability of trade-in-services statistics. Designed for National Statistical Offices, Central Banks, and other relevant institutions, TiSSTAT helped countries strengthen their capacity to collect and process services trade data in line with international standards, especially through enterprise surveys.
The session highlighted the main features of TiSSTAT, including data collection, validation, extrapolation, and reporting functionalities. It also showcased experiences from pilot countries, emphasizing how TiSSTAT enhanced data quality and addressed current challenges in capturing the complexity of trade in services.
The webinar brought together statisticians, geospatial information experts, and data officers from National Statistical Systems, government entities, UN agencies, international and regional organizations, UN Country Teams, civil society, academia, and the private sector.
