The Spanish-speaking Network of the UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Management Program organizes the Defense of Monographs of the Modern Port Management course, in collaboration with the National Logistics Institute (INALOG), the Navigation Center (CENAVE), and the Port Authorities of Gijón, Las Palmas, and Valencia.
The meeting will take place the 3rd and 4th of october and is intended for the first cohort, comprising 25 port administrators (including 7 women). The training course is conducted by an expert from Exolgan Argentina and the Director of Human Resources of the Port of Gijón (Spain).
The Coordination Meeting objectives are:
- To present and evaluate the implemented activities during the current year in the member countries;
- To identify best practices for the elaboration of recommendations as for the strengthening of the Network;
- Agree on the the work plan and calendar of activities for 2025 with the Spain Partner ports and the Member Ports;
- Present the Programme to Ports interested in joining it.
In this way, UNCTAD’s TrainForTrade Port Management Programme supports port communities in their quest for efficient and competitive port management. To increase trade flows and foster economic development, the programme creates port networks bringing together public, private and international entities.
