Body

Recently, UNCTAD prepared a generic toolkit entitled “Policy and Institutional Frameworks for Science, Technology and Innovation Parks - Proposed Guidelines for Developing Countries” for supporting policymakers in developing countries in designing and implementing such frameworks.

During the informal STI Park Expert Network meeting held on 1 June 2026, coordinated by UNCTAD, the need for a deeper understanding of the toolkit and how it is used in different countries or STI parks was discussed.

One of the STI Park experts, Dr Rajendra Jagdale, Director General and CEO of Science and Technology Park, Pune, India, made a substantial contribution to this toolkit. He volunteered to give a presentation on how to customize the toolkit and facilitate the related discussion among participants.

Participation

The meeting is open to countries having participated in the STI park project and other countries, in particular those having expressed an interest in technical assistance from UNCTAD.

All stakeholders from these countries (i.e. policymakers at governments, experts from academia, industries, real estate developers, and STI park managers) are welcome to participate in this online event.

Registration

Prior registration is requested.

For efficient time management, advance queries or questions to the co-organizers will be highly appreciated.
