Body
Led by ODI with support from UNCTAD and partners, this side event shines a light on the inequities faced by Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the ocean economy.
Despite their vast marine resources, these "big ocean states" often lack access to fair financing, trade opportunities, and decision-making power. Featuring insights from UNCTAD and ODI, and case studies from the Maldives and French Overseas Territories, the session will explore innovative governance reforms and financing strategies that can help level the playing field and promote ocean equity.
