The E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UNCTAD, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Modernization of the Administration of Mauritania (MTNMA) and GIZ, is organizing national consultations on 29 and 30 October 2025. These consultations will bring together stakeholders from public and private sectors, academia, civil society and development partners to review and validate the national e-commerce strategy of Mauritania.
The development of this strategy is a key recommendation of the eTrade Readiness Assessment of Mauritania published by UNCTAD in 2024. The National E-commerce Strategy of Mauritania is being developed with financial contribution from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the ECDE Core Donors (Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, and the Kingdom of the Netherlands).
