Meeting Date
16 April 2026
09:00 - 14:00 hrs. Courtyard by Marriott
Location
Bridgetown, Barbados
Body

The workshop aims to present and validate the trade policies and sustainable food supply chains measures identified that are needed to address food security challenges in Barbados. The intended outcome is to support policymakers in strengthening sustainable and resilient food supply chains.

UNCTAD conducted a national assessment in Barbados to analyze the state of food security, domestic agricultural production, agri-food trade, and the policy environment influencing supply chain resilience. It also identifies existing needs and gaps and provides context-specific recommendations and solutions to enhance the country’s food security response.

Participants from government bodies, regional and international organizations, industry and business associations, civil society and the private sector will review and discuss the main findings and strategic recommendations of the assessment work. They are also expected to exchange experiences and agree on concrete next steps to support the implementation of targeted capacity-building activities and follow-up actions.
