New Executive Director of International Trade Centre being recruited

17 October 2012

The post of Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC) will become vacant in June 2013 upon the completion of the term of the incumbent. Based on a joint recommendation by the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the new Executive Director will be appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

A robust selection process will commence very shortly, and will be completed in the first quarter of 2013 in order to give the new Executive Director the necessary time to take over the management of ITC by June 2013.

ITC is a key partner of UNCTAD and WTO in their joint efforts to help developing countries - particularly the least developed countries and countries with economies in transition - to better integrate into the global economy. We are committed to filling this post with the best person to run the organization. We are looking for an exceptional manager with strong leadership qualities and a proven track record of accomplishments at the regional, national or international level, to manage a complex organization in an internationally diverse and multicultural environment. Please see, on the right, a link to the profile of the candidate sought for this position.

Applications from suitable candidates should be sent to: executivedirectoritc@unctad.org no later than 15 December 2012.

A shortlist of candidates will be drawn up jointly by UNCTAD and WTO, and the final selection will be made after a full interview process.
