UNCTAD16 exhibition: Capacity-building for science, technology and innovation policy

Effective policy action requires a shared understanding among a wide range of stakeholders of what science, technology and innovation (STI) policy is and how innovation emerges and contributes to economic growth and sustainable development.

The objective of conducting capacity-building among policymakers and stakeholders is to help them better understand their STI ecosystems so they can design and implement successful STI policies.

The exhibition will showcase UN Trade and Development’s (UNCTAD) three modes of STI capacity-building:

• UNCTAD e-learning course on STI policy and practice
• Workshops and live webinars as part of Work Stream 6 of the UN Interagency Task Team on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals
• UNCTAD STI Policy reviews done at the request by member states.
