UNCTAD16 negotiations

Since September 2024, representatives from UNCTAD's 195 member states have been working to reach a consensus on the text to be adopted at UNCTAD16.

This negotiating text outlines their vision for addressing current economic challenges and sets the organization's work priorities for the next four years.

Intensive negotiations began on 20 February 2025, during the first session of the Preparatory Committee (Prepcom), and will continue during the sessions of UNCTAD16's Committee of the Whole.

The Chair of the Committee is H.E. Ambassador Paul Bekkers from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who also serves as the President of the Trade and Development Board.
