Amandeep Singh Gill of India was appointed Envoy on Technology to the United Nations Secretary-General on 10 June 2022.
Mr. Gill is the Chief Executive Officer of the International Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence Research Collaborative (I-DAIR) project, based at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva.
Previously, he was the Executive Director and Co-Lead of the United Nations Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation (2018-2019). In addition to delivering the report of the High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation, Mr. Gill helped secure high-impact international consensus recommendations on regulating Artificial Intelligence (Al) in lethal autonomous weapon systems in 2017 and 2018, the draft Al ethics recommendation of UNESCO in 2020, and a new international platform on digital health and Al.
Mr. Gill was India’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva (2016-2018).
Mr. Gill holds a PhD in Nuclear Learning in Multilateral Forums from King’s College, London, a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Electrical Communications from Panjab University, Chandigarh and an Advanced Diploma in French History and Language from Geneva University.
Dr. Sok Siphana holds the rank of Senior Minister in charge of International and Multi-lateral Trade and Economic Relations in the Royal Government of Cambodia.
His responsibilities encompass guiding and offering support to the Prime Minister and fellow council members. In addition, he is tasked with overseeing specific areas of governmental policy implementation, ensuring their effectiveness. Furthermore, Dr. Sok‘s presence will be pivotal in representing Cambodia on the international stage, as he engages in various global events and meetings.
Dr. Sok Siphana is no stranger to Cambodia’s public service landscape, having held numerous significant roles within the government. Since 2009, he has served as an Advisor to the Royal Government. Simultaneously, he has maintained an active role as a practicing attorney and the Founding Partner of Partner at Sok Siphana and Associates, a law and consulting firm specializing in international trade and corporate law in Phnom Penh.
Mahendra Siregar is the chief of the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia.
He previously served as Deputy Foreign Minister and was formerly the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States.
On 25 October 2019, he was appointed as the deputy minister of foreign affairs.
Mr. Mahendra is a respected economist in Indonesia who has held various senior positions within the Indonesian bureaucracy.
Mr. Türk is the current United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. He took up his official functions as High Commissioner on 17 October 2022.
Prior to this, Mr. Türk was the Under-Secretary-General for Policy in the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General where he coordinated global policy work. He also ensured UN system-wide coordination in the follow-up to the Secretary-General’s “Call to Action for Human Rights” and his report, Our Common Agenda, which sets out a vision to tackle the world’s interconnected challenges on foundations of trust, solidarity and human rights.
He previously served as Assistant Secretary-General for Strategic Coordination in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General (2019-2021). As Assistant High Commissioner for Protection in the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva (2015-2019), Mr. Türk played a key role in the development of the landmark Global Compact on Refugees.
Over the course of his career, he held a number of key positions including at UNHCR headquarters where he served as Director of the Division of International Protection (2009-2015); Director of Organizational Development and Management (2008-2009); and Chief of Section, Protection Policy and Legal Advice (2000-2004). Mr. Türk also served UNHCR around the world, including as Representative in Malaysia; Assistant Chief of Mission in Kosovo and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, respectively; Regional Protection Coordinator in the Democratic Republic of the Congo; and in Kuwait.
Mr. Türk holds a doctorate in international law from the University of Vienna and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Linz, Austria. He has published widely on international refugee law and international human rights law.
Mr. Selim Uddin is currently serving as the Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
He began his career as an Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate in Naogaon district. Later, he served as an Assistant/Senior Assistant Commissioner in Chandpur, Bandarban Hill District Council, and Bandarban district.
He also served as the Upazila Nirbahi Officer in Ramu Upazila of Cox's Bazar district and as the Deputy Commissioner in Bhola district. In addition, he has held important responsibilities as Senior Assistant Secretary/Deputy Secretary/ Joint Secretary/Additional Secretary in various departments including the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Planning Ministry, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Industries.

H.E. Mrs. Karien van Gennip is a Dutch businesswoman and politician who is currently serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Affairs and Employment in the Government of the Netherlands.
She previously held the following positions: Minister of Social Affairs and Employment in the fourth Rutte government (2022-2023); Chair of the board of directors of health insurance cooperative Coöperatie VGZ, Arnhem (2020-2022); Various executive roles at ING Group, including CEO ING Bank France, Paris (2008-2020); Member of the House of Representatives for the CDA (2006-2008); State Secretary for Economic Affairs in the second and third Balkenende governments (2003-2007); Project leader for the internal reorganisation of the newly established Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets, Amsterdam (2002-2003); McKinsey & Company, Amsterdam and San Francisco (1994-2002).
Isabella Weber is an Assistant Professor of Economics and the Research Leader for China of the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Previously she was a Lecturer at Goldsmiths, London. She holds a Ph.D. in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in Economics from the New School of Social Research.
Isabella is the author of “How China Escaped Shock Therapy: The Market Reform Debate” and has written on the economics of China’s rise, neoliberalism and neoliberals in China, the US-China trade imbalance and theories of money.
