The overarching objective of the project, "Mainstreaming Climate Resilient Blue Economy in the BCLME Region" (BCLME IV Project) is to integrate the development of climate-resilient blue economy into the implementation of the Strategic Action Programme (SAP) of the Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem. This effort aims to preserve the integrity of coastal and marine ecosystems while enhancing the livelihoods of coastal communities.
The Project Steering Committee (PSC) is the highest decision-making and oversight body for the project. It provides strategic guidance and direction, ensuring effective implementation and alignment with project objectives. UNCTAD’s Responsible Party role in the Project entails technical support to the Benguela Current Commission (BCC) Secretariat in developing sustainable blue value chains and leveraging blue finance and investment to expand them further.
