As part of UNCTAD’s “Sustainable Smart Ports (SSP) for African Countries” UNDA project, this capacity-building workshop aims to strengthen the skills and knowledge of port stakeholders in line with the energy transition priorities of Port of Tema. The programme will focus on renewable energy production, consumption and distribution, electrification of port operations, and energy efficiency management. These topics reflect the priority areas for action identified in the SSP Assessment Report of the port.

Stakeholders will be introduced to practical tools, methodologies, and decision-support approaches to help them advance their respective SSP goals, including through joint and coordinated action.

The training will also showcase best practices from other ports and provide technical insights through expert-led discussions.

The workshop is by invitation only and targets a wide range of stakeholders involved in port operations, energy planning, and sustainability implementation.
