Commission on Science and Technology for Development, 2023-2024 Inter-sessional Panel

The Commission on Science and Technology for Development will hold its 2023-2024 inter-sessional panel meeting with physical and remote participation on 6-7 November 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. each day.

The panel will address the following two priority themes:

  • Theme 1: Data for Development
  • Theme 2: Global cooperation in science, technology and innovation for development

The Commission will also review progress made in the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society.

The findings and recommendations of the panel will be considered at the twenty-seventh session of the Commission in 2024.

Participation and registration

Participants will include representatives from national Governments, international organizations, the private sector and civil society. Representatives of other organizations, including non-governmental organizations in the general and special categories, should hold consultative status with the Economic and Social Council or have received accreditation from the World Summit on the Information Society.

UNCTAD will defray the travel and per diem costs of one representative from each member State of the Commission. Permanent missions should send a Note Verbale or e-mail to the CSTD Secretariat with the name and contact information of the representative to be funded not later than 31 August 2023.

Logistics

The meeting will be held with physical participation in Lisbon, Portugal and remote participation.

To facilitate the approval of registration, permanent missions should confirm the list of participating delegates by means of a note verbale or by email.

The meeting will be conducted in English language only. There will be no interpretation.
