National Validation Workshop on the Vulnerability Profile of Uganda

Meeting Date
3 – 4 September 2026
Four Points Hotel by Sheraton
Location
Kampala, Uganda
Body

The Vulnerability Profile of Uganda was prepared pursuant to United Nations General Assembly Resolution 59/209, which mandates UNCTAD to undertake vulnerability assessments of least developed countries (LDCs) that have met the LDC graduation criteria for the first time. The Vulnerability Profile constitutes an important input into the graduation assessment conducted by the Committee for Development Policy (CDP).

The validation workshop will provide a platform for policy dialogue among government officials, development partners, private sector representatives, academics, and other stakeholders on the findings and implications of the Vulnerability Profile. Discussions will focus on evaluating the nature and severity of the identified vulnerabilities, their potential implications for Uganda’s graduation process, and the policy measures needed to strengthen resilience, mitigate risks, and sustain development gains throughout and beyond the transition from LDC status.
