Workshop on port challenges in the 21st century

The UNCTAD Port Management Programme/TRAINFORTRADE Workshop on the Challenges of 21st Century Ports, organised jointly with the General Administration of Ports, with the support of the Port Authorities of Valencia and Gijón, will be held from 9 to 11 March 2022 in the City of Buenos Aires.

Participants will include: Mr. Francesc Sánchez - Director General of the Port Authority of Valencia, Mr. José Garcia Pedrayes of the Port Authority of Gijón, and 62 representatives of the port communities of the Spanish Speaking Network of the UNCTAD Port Management/TRAINFORTRADE programme.

During the meetings, different topics will be dealt with: The new post-covid 19 reality; The challenges facing the new trends in the port sector; The challenges of port organisations in the 21st century, which will be addressed by international port experts and UNCTAD.

The Port Management Programme includes various training activities, study tours, port visits, port research, analysis of port performance indicators, technical assistance and publications.
