UNCTAD is collaborating with Turkey in the context of the creative economy activities. At the occasion of the meeting on Finance, Trade and Investment which included creative industries, UNCTAD supported the launching and establishment of the Istanbul Creative Economy Centre.

In the first half of 2012, global foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows decline by 8 per cent compared with the same period of 2011. UNCTAD now projects that FDI flows will, at best, level-off in 2012.

eRegulations system to formalize small businesses in four major Colombian cities

UNCTAD has finalized an agreement with the Ministry of Trade and the Confederation of Chambers of Commerce of Colombia (CONFECAMARAS) to extend the eRegulations system beyond Bogota to another three cities and to build a national portal for the comparison of procedures required to start a business.

The Municipality of Lomas de Zamora (Province of Buenos Aires) has announced that it will finance UNCTAD to install its eRegistrations system so as to computerize and speed up the issuance of business licenses, mandatory for all new enterprises.
