19 June 2013

“To address global food security, Africa now calls for a strong and efficient delivery system, capable of meeting the expanding and diverse needs of agriculture and rural development,” states Hon. Hamad Rashid Mohamed, Member of Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania and Vice-President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Committee on Sustainable Development, Finance and Trade.

Mr. Mohamed will take part in the UNCTAD Public Symposium, which is to be held on 24 and 25 June in Geneva and will address New Economic Approaches for a Coherent Post-2015 Agenda.

Adherent to the eight comprehensive programmes to implement the Millennium Development Goals on the Tanzanian mainland through MKUKUTA and in Zanzibar through MKUZA, respectively, in order to address - among other topical issues - sustainable economic growth to eliminate poverty worldwide, and also to address global food security, Africa now calls for a strong and efficient delivery system capable of meeting the expanding and diverse needs of agriculture and rural development.   Hamad Rashid Mohamed
