
Kanika Sahijwani is currently working at the Global Transmission Report, she is a Marketing and Business Development Strategist, Social Impact Consultant and a Fine-art Artist from India.
Kanika is a young leader with over eleven years of experience with different non-profit organizations in various capacities.
She received the 2021 Diana Award in recognition of her efforts in the social and non-profit spaces. Kanika has presented at UNCTAD Youth Forum’18 held at UN Headquarters in Geneva and also led a session on SDG 8 at the ECOSOC Youth Forum’19 at UN in New York.
She is an aspiring social entrepreneur focused on empowering underprivileged women through skill building and employment generation in India. She graduated from the University of Delhi, India with her Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in English in 2017.

Abdoulkarim Saidali is an Associate Economist in the International Trade and Commodities Division at UNCTAD, where he focuses on economic research addressing key development challenges.
Abdoulkarim Saidali has contributed to a diverse range of publications exploring critical issues such as access to agricultural inputs in Togo's cotton sector, the digital practices of informal enterprises in Senegal, and the price volatility of minerals essential for the energy transition, along with their impact on the economic development of producing countries.
Abdoulkarim Saidali holds an engineering degree in applied statistics and economics from the Institut National de Statistique et d'Économie Appliquée in Rabat, and a master’s degree in development and population economics from the University of Bordeaux.

Taichi Sakano is a senior advisor on public debt management and PFM at the Governance and Peacebuilding Department of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which he joined in 2016. He has been involved in various JICA projects related to debt management and PFM as an advisor, and has participated in several PEFA assessments as an assessor and peer reviewer.
Prior to joining JICA, he held a position of a senior analyst at a private think tank, where he conducted a number of policy studies for the World Bank, the ASEAN Secretariat, and the Japanese Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He has been a visiting professor at the Department of Economics, Yamaguchi University and Chuo University. His research interests focus on economic growth, debt management, public financial management, climate change and natural resources.
He holds an M.S. degree in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota and an M.S. degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Tsukuba.
Amadou Sako takes up his role at IOE already familiar with the organisation as a laureate of the 3rd edition of the organisation’s Global Young Employers’ Academy. He was also a member and adviser on youth engagement and skills development at Le Conseil National du Patronat Guinéen (CNPG), the Guinean employers’ organisation.
Amadou is an experienced professional with a strong entrepreneurial background and 15 years of international experience (Canada, France and West Africa) in business development, stakeholder management and corporate affairs. He was President of the Guinean Young Professionals’ Club, a non-governmental organisation of young Guinean entrepreneurs actively involved in debates related to the development of a sustainable and responsible private sector in Guinea.
He co-founded a corporate affairs and corporate event management agency based in Guinea and has collaborated with several renowned multinationals companies and institutions such as the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program and the European Union.
His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree with a major in communications from the University of Montreal and a Sales Management Certificate from HEC Montreal Business School.
Mr. Aimé Molendo Sakombi is Minister of Hydrocarbons in Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mr. Sakombi is a distinguished public servant and entrepreneur, currently serving as the Minister of Hydrocarbons in the Democratic Republic of Congo (since May 2024). Prior to this, he was Minister of Land Affairs (2019-2024). He also holds elected positions as National Deputy of Mongala Province (2023) and Senator (2024).
Mr. Sakombi's career spans journalism, politics, and business. He founded multiple companies in construction, urban development, and media, including the online news platform 7sur7.cd. He is also committed to social causes through the Molendo Sakombi Foundation.
Educated in Belgium, Aime holds degrees in Communication, Marketing, and Strategy. His expertise is further enhanced by advanced studies in Strategy and Defense.

Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno is Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, appointed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on December, 23rd 2020. Previously, Sandiaga was elected as Vice Governor of Jakarta 2017-2022 and served from October 2017 to August 2018. He ran as a candidate for the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in the 2019 election. On October 16, 2019, he was appointed as Vice Chairman of The Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra), the second-largest political party in Indonesia.
Sandiaga was one of Indonesia’s most prominent young entrepreneurs and active in the Indonesian business communities. He is the co-founder of PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk., the first and the biggest publicly listed active investment company in Indonesia, and served as a President Director 2004 - 2015. He has led the investment firm to have a solid track record of profitable investments across key sectors of the Indonesian economy.
In October 2016, he received the title of Distinguished Research Professor in Residence from George Washington University. Sandiaga obtained a doctoral degree in Management from Universitas Pelita Harapan (Indonesia). He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from George Washington University (USA) and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with the highest distinction of Summa Cum Laude from the Wichita State University (USA).
Juan Salamanca is a visionary supply chain leader with over 9 years of experience in multicultural environments, specializing in generating customer-oriented results through the strategic use of technology and information systems.
His transformative approach to supply chain management, coupled with a humanitarian focus and expertise in implementing large-scale ERP systems, has significantly impacted organizational capabilities across 13 countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region in organizations such as ICRC.
Currently, Juan is completing his master's studies in Supply Chain Management at the University of the Andes in Colombia. Juan currently works for Plan International, a humanitarian and international development organization advocating for children's rights and girls' equality.
Ricardo Salazar serves as the President of the Consumer Protection Agency of El Salvador. He is an economist, with a master’s degree in public administration and a specialization in market regulation. Ricardo has over 25 years of experience in market oversight and regulation, consumer protection, economic analysis, and public administration management.
Key positions held:
- Since 2018, he has served as President of the Consumer Protection Agency (Defensoría del Consumidor), the government body responsible for consumer protection in El Salvador.
- Since 2022, he has been appointed Technical Secretary of the Central American Council for Consumer Protection.
- For the 2023–2024 period, he held the Presidency of the Management Committee of the Consumer Safety and Health Network (RCSS) of the Organization of American States (OAS).
- In 2018–2019, he was appointed President of the Ibero-American Forum of Consumer Protection Agencies (FIAGC).
- Between 2009 and 2018, he held various managerial and executive roles within the Consumer Protection Agency.
- From 2012 to June 2014, he served as Director of the Regulatory Directorate for Hydrocarbons and Mines at the Ministry of Economy.

Mr. José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs was appointed Executive Secretary of ECLAC by the United Nations’ Secretary-General on September 1, 2022. He took office as from October 3, 2022. Previously he served as Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Labour Organization (ILO) from 2015-2018. He joined the ILO in 2005 as Executive Director of its Employment Sector and served as Assistant Director General for Policy from 2013 to 2015.
Prior to joining the ILO, he served from 1998 to 2005 as Director of the Trade Unit of the Organization of American States. Mr. Salazar was Minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica from 1997 to 1998, Executive President of the Costa Rican Development Corporation from 1988-1990 and Chief Economist and then Executive Director of a Central American private sector think tank (FEDEPRICAP) from 1990-1996. In the academic sphere, he is also the author of numerous journal articles on development, trade, productive transformation, competitiveness and employment policies, and has written and edited several books. He has taught at the University of Costa Rica, the National University of Heredia, Cambridge University and Georgetown University.
He holds a master’s degree in Development Economics and a doctorate in Economics from Cambridge University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica.
