This year’s session will address two main themes:

  2. Investment, innovation and technology for development.

During this fifth session, the 2013 Investment Promotion Awards will be given to the world’s best agencies in promoting export-oriented foreign direct investment.

The Commission will also consider the reports and discuss the outcomes and recommendations of its expert meetings on:

  2. Assessing the impact of public-private partnerships on trade and development in developing countries.

In addition, the Commission will examine progress made in the implementation of the mandates received in Accra and Doha by the UNCTAD secretariat, identifying areas in which synergies have been achieved among the three pillars of its work.
