Myanmar's unique products to benefit from 'geographical indication' promotion and protection, UNCTAD workshop in Yangon told

Least developed countries such as Myanmar can add value to unique products by establishing legal and commercial frameworks indicating their geographical origin.
In 2014, world merchandise exports grew by 0.6%, while trade in services recorded a 4.2% global increase

Estimates of global international trade for 2014 are published today jointly with WTO. These statistics cover annual and quarterly merchandise and services transactions - up to Q4 2014. Seasonally adjusted quarterly statistics are also available for the volume of international merchandise commerce.

World services exports grew by 4.7% in quarter 3 of 2014

According to preliminary estimates by UNCTAD and WTO, in the third quarter of 2014, world exports of services grew by 4.7% compared with the same quarter of the previous year (balance-of-payments basis, current prices).
