The creation of a safe, stable and attractive environment for enterprise and industry, through fair, sound and robust national competition and consumer protection laws and policies are crucial for inclusive and sustainable development.


UNCTAD is focal point in the United Nations for all matters related to competition policy, from its three decades of work on the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices and from servicing the intergovernmental group of experts.
