The creation of a safe, stable and attractive environment for enterprise and industry, through fair, sound and robust national competition and consumer protection laws and policies are crucial for inclusive and sustainable development.

 

UNCTAD is the focal point in the United Nations for all matters related to competition and consumer protection policies, from its work on the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices and on the Guidelines for Consumer Protection and from servicing the United Nations Conference to Review All Aspects of the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices and its Intergovernmental groups of experts meetings.
