About the Commission
The Commission addressed two priority themes, namely
- Strategic foresight for the post-2015 development agenda
- Digital development
The eighteenth session included a substantive 10-year review of the progress made in the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
In addition, the Commission heard presentations on national science, technology and innovation policy reviews.
The participants included representatives of Governments, civil society, the private sector and international organizations.
The first day consisted of an opening ceremony and two ministerial round tables, one entitled "Managing the transition from the Millennium Development Goals to sustainable development goals: the role of science, technology and innovation", held in the morning, and another entitled "Review of progress made in the implementation of WSIS outcomes", held in the afternoon.
The session opened at 10 a.m. on Monday, 4 May 2015.
