General Debate
The general debate will take place on 6 June 2018 in the morning from 10:00-13:00 hrs. and in the afternoon from 17:00-18:00 hrs.
As is customary, Group statements will be followed by statements from individual member States, intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations.
The duration of statements will depend on the number of speakers inscribed by the deadline for inscriptions, but an indicative duration is that Group statements will be allocated one-third more time than national statements.
Groups and member States wishing to make formal statements during the general debate are requested to inscribe on the list of speakers no later than Thursday, 31 May 2018 at 12(noon). Priority will be given to statements delivered by Permanent Representatives and higher-ranking representatives.
Requests for inscriptions are to be sent to: statements@unctad.org. Only those inscribed in the speakers’ list will be guaranteed a slot for the delivery of their statement in the event that time runs short.
Member States wishing to have their statements uploaded on the UNCTAD website should provide them in electronic form to the same address.
