The panel will address the following two priority themes:
Theme I, which is related to the Commission´s mandate to assist the Economic and Social Council in the follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS):
• Internet broadband for an inclusive digital society
Theme II, which is related to the Commission’s traditional mandate on science and technology:
• Science, technology and innovation for sustainable cities and peri-urban communities
In addition, the panel will address the follow-up to WSIS.
Findings and recommendations of the panel will be considered at the 16th session of the CSTD, to be held in June 2013.
