The Trade and Development Board acts as UNCTAD's governing body in-between the quadrennial Conferences.
It meets in Geneva for its annual session to oversee the activities of the organization.
Key agenda items:
- Annual report of the Secretary-General.
- Report on UNCTAD assistance to the Palestinian people.
- Activities undertaken by UNCTAD in support of Africa.
- UNCTAD contribution to the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries.
- UNCTAD contributions to the implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic and social fields.
- Reports of subsidiary bodies:
- Report of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on E-commerce and the Digital Economy.
- Report of the Trade and Development Commission.
- Report of the Investment, Enterprise and Development Commission.
- Report of the ninth United Nations Conference to Review All Aspects of the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices.
Participation and Registration
Registration should be completed online and is required in order to be included in the list of participants.
Permanent representatives of States members of the Board are requested to inform the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) secretariat of the name and title of their representative(s). Kindly note that the credential letter of your representative(s) should be uploaded on to the system during the online registration process.
Other participants (i.e. representatives of members of UN Trade and Development that are not members of the Board and representatives of specialized agencies, non-governmental organizations and intergovernmental bodies wishing to attend as observers) are also eligible to participate in the session as observers and should register online by the same date using the link above.
Logistics
The session will be held with physical participation in room XVI of the Palais des Nations. Those who cannot attend the meeting in person will be able to listen to the live audio stream. However, remote interventions will not be possible.
The link to listen live will be sent to registered participants, at the email address used for registration, one day in advance of the start of the meeting.
